EX-RANGER THWARTS BANDIT
LOS ANGELES - (UP) - When Norfleet Gates, 37, attempted a holdup by means of flashing a big knife he had the misfortune to chose for his first victim Tom Pigg, 60, a former Texas Ranger and expert with a bowie knife. Before the Negro could get his knife into action Pigg whipped out one of his own and started carving the would-be bandit. The latter was taken to the General Hospital for general repairs.
